Five Spice Workshops from Four Mekong Countries

As part of the Spice Route Festival, a series of five spice workshops was organized to showcase culinary knowledge and spice traditions from the Mekong region. The workshops featured Laap Spice Mix from Thailand, Hung Lay Masala from Myanmar, Mala Mix from China, Or Lam from Laos, and Aromatic Oil from Thailand, a spice-based product developed by the research project. The workshops were held on 17–18 January 2026 with the following schedule: 13:00–13:30 | Hung Lay Masala 13:35–14:05 | Mala Mix 14:10–14:40 | Laap Spice Mix 14:45–15:15 | Or Lam 15:20–15:50 | Aromatic Oil These sessions allowed participants to explore spice traditions, cooking techniques, and the cultural stories behind each dish through interactive demonstrations.
